Treatments for some conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoporosis, psoriasis, gout, ulcerative colitis and some anemia can call for intravenous (IV) therapy and medical infusions. For the comfort and convenience of Oregon Medical Group patients in Eugene and Springfield, and to ensure full coordination with their referring OMG providers, we provide an Infusion Services Center. This group of specialists provides compassionate, expert care from our Gateway Medical Clinic in Springfield.
Our center features eight large, comfortable, fully reclining chairs, free WiFi internet access, snacks/beverages, and warm blankets.
Patients are continuously monitored by an experienced RN and a physician is available on-site at all times. Our registered nurses are specially trained to administer IV medications. As part of their training, they are educated about the latest therapies available for various diseases. Our nurses educate patients and families on medications the patient receives, the disease the patient is being treated for, possible side effects and reactions, and how to administer self-injections for subcutaneous medications.
We provide insurance verification, precertification and coordination of care for each client. We also provide information about patient rebate programs to help our patients with out-of-pocket costs including deductible, copayment and co-insurance expenses.
