Serena earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon and a master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Saint Francis College. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and has worked as a physician assistant since 1996 in both primary care and obstetrics/gynecology. Her medical areas of interest include preventative health, gynecology and diabetes. Serena provides patient care to individuals 16 years of age and older.

In her personal time, she enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her husband and three boys.
