Dr. Dougherty earned a medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and fellowship training in rheumatology at the University of Texas Health Science in Houston. Dr. Dougherty is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and his medical areas of interest include rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, vasculitis and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He strives to understand a patient's concerns and goals and help them translate this into a specific management plan that fits into their life.

In his personal time, Dr. Dougherty enjoys hiking, running and traveling.
