Kids and Fevers
Fevers are more common during the winter months and there are certainly some viruses going around. We are often asked for guidance to lower a child’s fever. While each body is different, there are some common guidelines. Please note that 100.4 or greater is considered to be a fever. Any child under three months should be seen by a doctor if a fever is present.
Don’t ever give your child aspirin. Instead, use acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
Always ask your doctor before using cold or flu remedies.
Be certain you’re not accidentally double-dosing…many combination remedies include acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
It’s also very important to keep your child hydrated. (Ice chips are a good back-up when an upset tummy’s involved.)
Above all, know that we’re here to help.
